 JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Senior Customer Quality Engineer

JOB SUMMARY: 
Responsible for investigation and defining corrective actions for customer quality issues. 
Responsible for the communication to the customer in regards
to data gathering, customer updates, root cause, and corrective action reports.

KEY FUNCTIONS:
Manage assigned cases and insure they are resolved in a timely manner.
Work with other departments to establish root cause and corrective actions on customer quality issues.
Work directly with customers via telephone, email, or other to resolve quality issues
Study and recommend techniques to improve product, process, and control methods to enhance overall Quality levels.
Provide backup within the Customer Quality Department.
Education of other groups as needed (in regards to inspection, rework or new processing details).
Any other job related duties as requested by management.
Work with customers and Samtec associates globally to resolve customer quality issues.This may require domestic and international travel and off-hours
communications on occasion.
Provide input to engineering groups about quality issues and history in order to improve existing or new designs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
Investigate customer issues, write corrective action reports as requested based on system established due date.
Work within the established guidelines, as defined by the quality system, Corporate Procedures, Work Instructions etc.

REQUIRED TRAINING AND EDUCATION:
Training –
Information and analysis tools (SEM, Measuring equipment, photography, test lab equipment, Solidworks, microscopes, x-ray, CT scans, etc)
Manufacturing Process, Machines, and Methods
May include as applicable quality tools like 6 Sigma, Green or Blackbelt training, FMEA, 8D, SPC, MSA, DOE, GR&R, ANOVA, and other similar items
Education –
High School Diploma or GED
4 year degree or technical training background
5-10 years experience in product, tooling, or manufacturing engineering preferred
3 years minimum experience in quality methods, tools, strategies, etc with regard to problem analysis, root cause and corrective action
Experience in small component manufacturing a plus
