 JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB SUMMARY
The procurement & Freight Planner Executive is responsible for the overall organization of day-to-day airfreight export planning at KLIA office in order to meet client’s
requirement and ensure optimum utilisation of committed space allocation by the carriers.
Besides assisting the Airfreight Commercial Manager to manage the team, the job requires the incumbents to communicate and work closely with a large array of people
within the organization and outside of the company (mainly the airlines carriers). The job demands the candidate to command a high degree of analysis skill in providing
the suitable airfreight product and pricing solution.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary lead for the day-to-day management of airfreight RFQs and spot quote request
Working closely with Tender Management team in order for better understanding on each bid requirement.
Monitoring the overall shipments status from wider perspective and intervene if anticipate with potential threat to the supply chain.
Act as an immediate escalation point should there is any schedule irregularity
Request ad-hoc rate to carriers from certain weight break for cost saving and ensure accurate spot rate applied in a timely manner for proper costing/ accrual.
Drive consolidations and encourage BUP intact submission for cost saving
Align with the direction of management to move majority of the volume with the set of core carriers for load concentration and meeting carrier tonnage commitment.
Maximize the BUP planning in order to lower achieved rates
Understanding the basic airfreight product and network coverage by each airline
Ability to perform a quick and simple comparison between carriers for the best solution.
Nurture good rapport and supportive relationship with all airline partners.
Assist the Airfreight Commercial Manager in the management of the Airfreight Commercial department.
Improve productivity of the through efficient work practices and monitoring the implementation of Standard Operating Procedures to comply with internal processes.
Ability to manage RFQs and Spot Quotes.
Organize ULD allocation with airlines.
Oversee and manage any rate dispute with airlines.
Understand each airline’s product and network coverage in order to recommend the most suitable airfreight solution.
On time preparation of intentional and official cargo claims to airlines.
Represent the company in industry related seminars/meetings/functions and maintain awareness of key industry developments and updates.
Committed to quality improvement and security requirements and ensure driving the team for compliance on the occupational, safety and health concern.
Constantly review and evaluate the airfreight planning process with recommendation for improvement in terms of productivity, cost reduction, yield betterment, job
effectiveness and efficiency.
Maintains positive employee relations and promote excellent internal communications.
Basic reporting like airlines tonnage commitment and achieved cost and updating of the airline’s latest tariff at the shared folder.
Procurement and rates negotiation for specific RFQ requirement, for example, reefer truck, air-ride truck, crane, low-loader, heavy lifting machine/mover, etc.
Additional functions mandated by the management.
AUTHORITIES
Drive the direction set by the Airfreight Commercial Manager in terms of procurement and carrier usage.
Manage the space booking within a set of pre-approved core carriers set by the management and able to switch carrier in the even if schedule irregularity and
higher buying cost.
Provides feedback and input about carrier support level & T/T performance.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
Must possess a certificate/ Diploma/ Degree in any discipline (preferably Logistics).
Minimum 5 years in freight forwarding experience will be required.
Airline background or working experience will be an added advantage.

Knowledge & Skills
Command good business communication.
Proficiency in MS Email Outlook/ MS Excel/ MS Word/ MS PowerPoint will be an advantage .
Able to coordinate inter-department in complete the given task and providing client centric solutions.
Analytical/ Problem solver.
Strong planning skills.
Focus with methodical and thorough approach to work.

Commercial minded in supporting all new business opportunities.
Well organized in work and able to adapt to rapid changes and challenges.
