Key Objectives:
The key responsibilities are to undertake paralegal task such as drafting correspondence, applications and legal documents.The key expectations are to set high
standards and have a strong work ethic, to contribute to the firm’s objectives, practice area goals and your own personal career aspirations.

Key Responsibilities
Drafting applications as required for Workers Compensation and CTP matters: ILARS, client statements, ARD’s, CARS and MAS Applications
Review and where applicable, summarise all incoming medical evidence and economic loss evidence
Drafting initial letters including:
o initial client letter
o initial letter to insurer requesting copy of their file
o letter to medico-legal doctor requesting report
Arranging medical appointments for clients to be assessed and sending letter to advise client of appointment details
Liaising with insurers and third parties
Calling doctors’ rooms to chase up clinical notes and medical reports • Updating practice management system
Creating, editing & managing documents
Assisting with the progression of matters within the parameters of your experience, authority and skill

General administrative tasks
Maintaining confidentiality
Marketing - proactively marketing the firm and services including participating in promotional activities as required
Meetings - participation in Staff Meetings
Other Duties as required from time to time

Other Responsibilities

Ensure full understanding of the practice guidelines that are applicable to your practice area and the location of policies and procedures applicable to the tasks you
Attend regular meetings as coordinated by your manager and contribute to ensuring continuous improvement opportunities to your department.
Ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements for EEO, anti-discrimination, harassment and environmental management.
Comply with company procedures, policies and practices. Procedures, policies and practices are modified from time to time to suit the needs of our firm and its
clients. It is your responsibility to ensure you maintain up to date knowledge of all applicable procedures, policies and practices.
To ensure a flexible and multi-skilled workplace, you may be required to perform other tasks and role requested of you by your manager. Additional training will be
provided when necessary to equip you with additional skills.
Reasonable overtime will be required from time to time to achieve the requirements of the role and client expectations.
Contribute to the successful outcomes of the department by promoting team work, assisting others when required and displaying a friendly and helpful manner.

Demonstrated Experience and Technical Expertise
Previous paralegal experience at a senior level
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Master's Degree, Law or equivalent.
At least 3 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
Must be able to work in Australian Working Hours (6AM - 3PM)
Solid knowledge of legal terminology, rules of legal procedure and the rules of evidence
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
The ability to manage multiple tasks
Excellent attention to detail to be able to carefully analyses files and data
Legal research skills and the desire to develop your understanding of the law
The ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
Office administrative skills
Good teamwork skills particularly when working with other departments to complete tasks
Flexibility and adaptability in your attitude and approach to work
Professionalism when working with colleagues, solicitors and clients
Business acumen and an understanding of the clients’ needs
Excellent organisational skills including strong attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
A friendly, down to earth nature and must enjoy working as part of a team
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated initiative and motivation
Ability to work without supervision

At least 2 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
Preferably Senior Executives specializing in Law/Legal Services or equivalent.
